Manufacturing Operations Manager

Global manufacturer of engine parts, providing parts service and repair work, currently seeking an Operations Manager.  The Operations Manager will ensuring that we are the most valued business partner for our global customers by providing high quality products, installations and support. As the Operations Manager, you will be accountable for the effective performance and proactive development of all order activities for Field Services, providing best-in-class order delivery and availability to our customers. You will organize, develop and manage the team over multi countries to ensure the right competence, quality and safety is in place for timely and efficient execution of service jobs.  Additional oversight of office and production personnel; which includes customer support, sales, field services, CNC machinists, mill operators, welders, and warehouse staff.

Project Location(s): Modesto, CA
Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 annually
  • Lead, manage and integrate the production and field services operations departments in order to deliver global customer orders at the right time in top quality.
  • Ensure optimal performance of customer repairs, installations, and product orders to meet complex customer requirements.
  • Actively drive improvement in quality for all parts production and field service activities.
  • Meet company targets and proactively collaborate cross functionally with Sales to capture and deliver on sales opportunities.
  • Manage Operations KPIs to ensure top efficiency and take necessary action for improvements to develop a continuous improvement culture.
  • Drive transparency by establishing and managing regular operation meetings both internally and with other stakeholders.
  • Foster co-operation with internal and external stakeholders to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure local implementation of global guidelines, processes and tools, including utilization of global templates, documents and reports.
  • Ensure proper implementation of local, area and global processes and tools according to business and QEHS guidelines.
  • Proactively work to enable cross-organizational cooperation and teamwork.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and competence for the development of your teams.
  • Improve employee engagement and build a trusting team environment.
  • Work with local union labor agreement of the manufacturing department.
  • Act as coach to team leaders with less experience.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a managerial role, within a manufacturing plant.
  • Previous experience working around CNC machines, lathes, and mills is highly desired.
  • Due to the customer type and team, Military Veteran status is preferred but not required.
  • Must have previous experience working with and overseeing blue collar workers.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong drive and execution abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, be responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and to drive solutions.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
