Director of Operations

We are looking for a seasoned Director of Operations to help design, build and run a world-class solar recycling operation.  The ideal candidate will have experience in both start-ups and larger companies, and will have scaled up pilot plant operations to full production.  If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with lots of challenges and opportunities, this is the right role for you.  Since we are an early-stage company with strong growth prospects, there will be many opportunities for career advancement.

Project Location(s): Sacramento, CA
Compensation: $120,000-$160,000 annually

DUTIES

  • Effectively and successfully manage the facility, people, equipment, process, quality, safety and logistics for the recycling operation.
  • A hands-on leader, manager and individual contributor who brings a combination of skills in operations management to get the job done.
  • Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, and counsel 10-20 employees and manage their KPIs and personal growth goals.
  • Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits: identify trends.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing materials, schedule such with vendors and customers.
  • Develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedure, including ISO.
  • Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes.
  • Manage relationships with key operational vendors; work with suppliers.
  • Track equipment orders, oversee equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Forecast requirements: prepare annual budget: schedule expenditures: analyze variances: initiating corrective actions.
  • Communicate with legal counsel to ensure all processes remain compliant with OSHA health and safety regulations and other governmental regulation.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years’ experience running production operations or supervising a production line.
  • Experience with logistics management, shipping and receiving.
  • Solar experience; recycling operations experience a plus.
